Which Disney theme park is the biggest?
Disney World Orlando
Not only children, but also many adults dream of a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando in the USA: pose for a snapshot with Mickey Mouse, experience the fireworks over the famous Cinderella Castle and enjoy a fast rollercoaster ride in the Enjoy "Space Mountain"!
Opened in 1971, the Walt Disney World Resort is located in the state of Florida in Lake Buena Vista, about 30 km from Orlando. The resort is a complex of several amusement parks and includes four theme parks, two water parks and 23 hotels on an area of approximately 15,000 hectares.
Magic Kingdom theme park
The main attraction of the "Magic Kingdom" theme park is the famous Cinderella Castle, above which a large fireworks display lights up in the evening.
Every afternoon at 3:00 p.m. you also have the opportunity to see the popular Disney characters up close at the "Disney Festival of Fantasy".
But not only the Disney characters are popular with small and large guests, the other attractions and rides also ensure almost unlimited leisure fun.
Roller coasters such as "Space Mountain" and "Big Thunder Mountain Railroad" invite you to fast-paced rides through the amusement park and it gets refreshingly wet on the "Splash Mountain" water rollercoaster. The smaller guests have a good view of the amusement park in the "Dumbo The Flying Elephant" carousel, and "Aladdin's flying carpet" can also be used high up. Or how about an adventurous "jungle cruise boat safari" with the family?
Epcot theme park
The Epcot theme park is divided into the two areas "Future World and World Showcase". Here you and your children can learn more about technological advances and the different cultures of the world.
The main attraction of the park is the widely visible "Spaceship Earth" dome in the "Future World" area, inside which you and your children can embark on a journey through the history of communication. In the "Test Track" roller coaster you have the opportunity to be a crash test dummies yourself on a car route - without actually putting yourself in danger, of course.
In the "World Showcase" area you can explore eleven nations in eleven pavilions: Experience Italy, Japan, Germany, Norway, China, Canada, Morocco, Mexico, France, Great Britain and the USA in just one day! In the shops you can buy souvenirs from the respective countries and the restaurants offer typical food and drinks.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park
Disney’s Hollywood Studios can be recognized from afar by the oversized magic hat of Mickey Mouse from the movie "Fantasia". Film, music and action fans can experience a lot at this theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando!
Do your kids love the muppets? Here you and your offspring can experience the dolls in 3D. Or let yourself be enchanted together in the show "The Beauty and the Beast".
For older children and adults, the "Indiana Jones Stunt Show" and the main attraction of this theme park - the "Tower of Terror" - will be exciting!
How about a musical roller coaster ride in the "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith" ?!
Look forward to a glimpse behind the scenes of the glamorous and exciting film world in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park
The youngest (opened in 1998) and largest theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort is "Disney’s Animal Kingdom". There are six themed areas on 250 hectares, some of which can be seen real animals. The theme park's hallmark is the "Tree of Life", a huge artificial tree in which there is a 3D cinema.
One of the highlights in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the "Kilimanjaro Safari" - here you drive in an open safari truck through a simulated savannah and encounter lions and giraffes, for example.
In "Disney’s Animal Kingdom" there is also a 60 meter high replica of the Himalayas. Although it is artificially built up, it is one of the highest mountains in Florida. Here you and your children can go on the "Expedition Everest" on the roller coaster.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park
According to legend, originally planned as Florida's first ski resort, "Disney’s Blizzard Beach" was converted into a water park due to lack of snow. Nevertheless, everything here is in the piste design - the entrance to most of the slides is on the 27 meter high artificial mountain "Mount Gushmore" and the slides are divided into the three piste categories green, red and purple. Visitors get to the top of the mountain with a ski lift-like chair lift, each of which has space for 3 people in the gondolas.
One of the attractions of the Blizzard Beach water park is one of the fastest and highest water slides in the world - the "Summit Plummet" - on which a maximum speed of 90 km / h can be reached.
The rubber-tire rafting slide "Teamboat Springs", which has tires for 4 to 6 people, offers great fun for the whole family.
Or how about a piste race? You can do this on the slides "Toboggan Racers" and "Downhill Double Dipper".
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park
The water park "Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon" is modeled on a tropical paradise. Here visitors can have fun on various water slides, let themselves be carried away by the waves in the "Surf Pool" and even snorkel with real sharks in a "Shark Reef".
Eat & drink at Walt Disney World Resort
All theme and water parks at Walt Disney World Resort have various theme restaurants as well as numerous snack stations and fast restaurants. Here you will find everything your heart desires - from ice cream and sandwiches to themed meals, which also include the popular Disney characters.
Service and shopping at Walt Disney World Resort
So that the youngest guests feel particularly comfortable at Walt Disney World Resort, all theme and water parks offer baby changing stations. In the Baby Care Centers of the four theme parks you also have the opportunity to breastfeed your little ones in peace or to provide them with baby food.
Do your children want to take home a lasting memory? Disney products such as T-shirts, mugs and hats and other souvenirs can be found in the numerous souvenir shops.
