What is Koonin's scientific criticism of abiogenesis

What lives

Life may seem familiar to us - an ant is alive, a stone is not, that's it! But in the natural sciences of all things, there is still no generally valid description that clearly distinguishes living beings from non-living matter. This little book explains in an understandable way for everyone what challenges there are with the now well over 100 scientific descriptions of life and what new goals need to be met. The readership is actively involved in the discussion during this search for a solution, so that one is forced to throw many convictions overboard that were previously taken for granted. Above all, one principle will have to be abandoned if life is to be described fundamentally - namely, the specificity of life itself.
