Altmaier: We are looking for the best AI ideas for practical use

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has launched the innovation competition "Artificial intelligence (AI) as a driver for economically relevant ecosystems".

Federal Minister of Economics Altmaier: “We have to and want to play in the premier league worldwide when it comes to artificial intelligence. It is crucial that the best ideas and concepts are implemented. That is why we promote outstanding approaches to the application of artificial intelligence with our AI competition. I am sure that we will be presented with strong ideas. We will award the best of them in autumn. You can then start large-scale projects immediately and put AI into practice. "

The BMWi competition is a direct contribution to the implementation of the Federal Government's AI strategy adopted by the Digital Cabinet in November. The most promising concepts will implement AI projects with practical relevance in core areas of the German economy as part of large-scale platform projects with high-performance cooperation networks. The focus ranges from intelligent mobility through intelligent production and robotics to smart living and the healthcare industry.

Concepts for AI projects in economically relevant economic areas can be submitted up to March 1, 2019.
