Problem Description

Imagine the following scenario:

  • You have installed Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) on SQL Server 2017.

  • You configure HTTP access to SSAS through the msmdpump.dll file.

In this scenario, your access to SSAS using http will fail and you will receive an error message that is similar to one of the following:

Error message: XML parsing error on line LINE_NUMBER, Column column_number: DTD is not allowed.

"File system error", while reading from the "compressed data stream" file, the following error occurred.

After you install this update, please follow these steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Stop the IIS application pool
